Petra Boase Decorations

There are so many decorations around for kids, but these are some of the cutest. Although it's becoming easier to find these honeycomb decorations, I have never seen them in these different sizes before. There are loads of colours available too. And then there are the cute japanese balloon creatures. They are really sweet, you just blow into a little hole and voila. Buy them all here and have a good look around the site.

Bespoke Blankets

Before my baby was born, all I really really wanted to get her, was one of these customized blankets from Roam. I wish I had.  But luckily they have a much bigger range now, there are bigger blankets for bigger kids and loads of new designs. I'm not sure why I haven't posted these before?

Miffy Lamp

I just broke my shopping ban to buy this. I tried to find something else I really did, but I'm pretty sure this is the best lamp ever made! Miffy lamp available in 80cm tall or 50cm tall from Maiden.

Kids Interiors

At the moment I am putting all the finishing touches on our baby's bedroom, it's been a long time coming! So I thought I would share with you some of our inspiration, collected over a long time. This is a seriously photo heavy post! I hope you enjoy it.

Varupen

Another thing I have been meaning to post since before the holidays! Varupen make these cool fabric sacks you can use as bins for rubbish bins, dirty washing or toy storage. So many great options!

Paper Light

Somehow I just stumbled across these amazing paper lamp shades from Studio Snowpuppe in the Netherlands. Designed by an architect and an industrial designer, they are just stunning. So perfect for a modern kids room. I so want to get one of these one day! But them here or on Etsy here.

Bean Bags

I know bean bags are usually pretty boring but go and explore the Little Red Stuga range and you will see some cool ideas like bean bag designs based on the highest mountains in the world which show really cute map like information. But my favorite is this knitted pouf based on the highest mountain in Sweden. Feel free to buy me one of these.

Animal Prints

Today Sharon Montrose from The Animal Printshop, released a new collection of baby animal photographic prints. The collection is called Little Darlings, such a cute idea for a kids room.

Rocking Animals

I keep coming across rocking horses that are not horses at all. Here are a few different options.
From top to bottom: Rocking Rabbit by Playsam on Alex & Alexa, Rocking Moose by Ikea and my favorite the Leather Rocking Stool by Tim Wigmore.

Cardboard Cot

Well actually I think this is a bassinet. Anyway would you use this? Would you be ok with a carboard bed for your baby? It's fully recyclable but not much cheaper than a normal wooden cot. Buy it here.

Uimi Blankets

Oh no I have found more blankets! These blankets are by Uimi in Australia. They are merino wool and come in a huge variety of colour ways and sizes. Love them!

More bedding

I might be slightly obsessed with bedding! I just stumbled across some simple but different kids bedding from the Netherlands. Taftan do a good range of colours for kids and babies beds. Below are duvets with big and small gingham and the little things in bags are bottom sheets.

Satchels

I am dying to buy one of these Cambridge Satchels for my baby but she is only little so I am going to try and hold myself back until she is actually closer to going to school. They come in so many great colours I don't know where to start. They seem like the kind of think you would have for a few years at primary school then bust it out again as a teenager and then again as an adult. I hope so anyway. You can have initials or names embossed or printed onto them too. Oh and they do trunks that would make great toy boxes.

Yumeeeeeee

Check out this cute online store called Yume! They have everything from clothing to decoration to toys and storage. It's French and you can view it in English but there isn't a lot of info about each item. I love these floor cushions, I think they are little hearts rather than dots and I have no idea what size they are but so want them.

Castle & Things

One of my favorite interior blogs & store Table Tonic, had a little link to this cute online store from Australia called Castle and Things. They have a range of bed linen for kids and adults as well as some cute and colourful artworks and decorations.

More Cots

Our Brio cot finally arrived and it was a dream to assemble, now the challenge is moving our baby from the bassinet that she likes to be rocked in. Anyway I still see cots I love and here are a couple, if only NZ could import or make something different to the standard cots we have. The first one is a gorgeous mid century style cot from Urban Baby that has two mattress levels and converts to a bed. The good news is, this one is from Australia so you could get it to NZ kind of easily. The second cot is by Oeuf in New York, it is eco friendly and uses non toxic paints. The mattress has three different levels and it can turn into a toddler bed but I reckon it's a bit ugly as a bed.

DIY playhouse

I think this is one of the best ideas I have come across, buy instructions to DIY.  Studio Mama is London based and sells downloadable pdf's to make simple furniture, outdoor kitchens and the best part a kids house - a structure to be used as a play space and a sleep space with little steps and a blackboard. I looks pretty easy to build. Shop here.

Third Drawer Down

This is one of my favorite stores in Melbourne. They have a huge range of tea towels and pillow cases featuring artists work but they also have a whole lot of crazy stuff for kids.
