Eco Art Supplies

I'm a sucker for natural things and art supplies so when the two are combined it's hard to resist. Below are a few cool things I have come across lately.

VEGGIE TEMPERA PAINT
From We Can Too, this range of paints is dairy free, gluten free and made from fruits and vegetables. They come in a powder form and you can mix it with water. We Can Too also do a range of edible crayons, baby face paint and chalks. Buy locally here.

GLOB COLORS
Glob colors also do a range of paints and crafty projects kits but I love their paint brushes and brush holder. Check their site for your nearest stockist - I came across them at the Art & Craft store on Waiheke Island.

Portrait

A new way of doing children's portraits. Those misty framed portraits that seem like they are from the 80's no matter when they are taken are awful. I love this idea of choosing important women in history and recreating the images. Click here to read the full story and see more photos.

I came across Beneath The Sun via my favorite NZ design blog Studio Home. I absolutely love these blocks, how great would they look in a kids room? It's worth a look around the site for cute spotty pillowcases and great cushions.

Sydney Shopping: Part Four

PURE & GENERAL
This store is divine and is not like any other. Everything changes regularly so it's worth checking back often. A lot of the pieces are commissioned for the store and are handcrafted all over the world. I am in love with the hand stitched blankets from Scotland and the hand stitched bears from South Africa. If only I had the budget. They also sell some of my favorite brands including Lucky Boy Sunday and Fog Linen.

Needle & I

Quite a while ago (you may have noticed my blogging absence) I was sent this beautiful garland of clouds from Needle & I. It is hanging across my daughters door and made me aware that there is a cloud theme going on in her room, how did I not know? The craftsmanship in these pieces is absolutely stunning and I couldn't recommend them more. Buy online here or at Peppin Boutique.

Cloth & Thread

Still on the cat trend and loving these cushions from Cloth & Thread. Definitely worth a look at this site, so many beautiful toys.

Knitted Cabinets

I am totally in love with these cabinets! Made by designer Beril Cicek from Turkey but based in Milan. Design Boom explains it better than I can...

Each of the cabinets are made from a wooden frame, enveloped by a knit cover, reminiscent of a sweater. the details of the storage units feature 
indications of their specific function. for example, the clothes cabinet has button details that are used to open and close it, 
as if one is dressing and undressing the wardrobe, whereas the shoe cabinet features rope which implies the tying of footwear. The 'ull' units are movable, allowing users to easily transport them between spaces via an incorporated wooden handle. 
the legs easily twist on and off and fit into small pockets which have been knit into the cabinet's exterior.

Kid Robot: Part 2

I keep going back to Kid Robot just to browse. It's been about eight years since I last bought a vinyl toy so I am totally out of the loop as far as knowing about the artists. But I love all these things below. They would make great gifts for kids. Those doughnuts below are erasers, do kids still use them? Do they even use pencils anymore?

Kristjana S Williams

How beautiful are these limited edition prints by Krisjana S Williams! I love how intricate they are, I can imagine little kids discovering something new in them every day. If you are into the current map trend, there are a few to choose from too. Have a look around the site here.

Art & Object

Totokaelo is one of my favorite online stores, but they also have an art and object store. These things aren't technically for kids rooms (or affordable in a lot of cases) but I think they would still look great. I am pretty much posting this because I love it.

Sketch Inc

I can't remember where I came across this but I absolutely love it. Sketch Inc do an eclectic range of mostly geometric objects. I am absolutely obsessed with the shadowbox. There is so much more to see, go and have a look around

Black Listed

I have been watching the Blacklist Studio online store for quite some time. Almost buying but not quite getting there. I don't actually have any space left on the walls in my house, but that doesn't stop me wanting them. Visit the site because there is so much more to see, including cushions and hanging banners.

Miga de Pan

I have no idea what this all says because it is in Spanish but the pictures speak for themselves. This Buenos Aires artist makes cute crochet toys but the work I love the most is the crazy embroideries and the tree trunk table.

For Like Ever

This is not new news but some of you may not have seen this before. I have wanted to buy this poster for far too long and strangely enough it would go perfectly with the colours in my girls room. You wouldn't believe how many times I have added this to cart and not checked out. Loads of other colours available at Super Rural.

Abigail Brown

After taking Gigi to the zoo, I have a new found obsession for Flamingos. Abigail Brown makes beautiful fabric bird sculptures that would look really sweet in the right space. Of course my favorite is this flamingo.

RK Design

I haven't visited this site in a long time, it's only vaguely familiar but seriously impressive. By the time you read this I might have purchased everything! Click here for RK Design's online store, it's full of prints and decorations + more.

Cowboys & Indians

Mushrooms

I am in love with these Mushroom Canisters by Beci Orpin. A little similar to the Pen Pencil Stencil guys, but much cuter. The are available exclusively in Melbourne from Ganim Store (online shop yet to come). I think I need to go to Australia.

Les Zigouis

I love this eclectic online store from France. Les Zigouis is a collection of clothing for kids and adults as well as art and photography by Barbara Berrada. Definitely worth a little look around this site.
