The Ultimate Tricycle

Tricycles are awesome. We had one once, but we forgot about it and left it at Grey Lynn Park (If you happen to know where it is, let me know. It's a radio flyer one with a parent handle, we miss it a lot). Anyway I think this is the coolest trike around and it's sold out. They might make more but they might not, in the meantime, just stare at the beauty of this design by James Perse...

Boon Boon Boon Boon

So I have blogged about this brand before but there are so many great products I have only just come across. Unfortunately some of the best items are no longer on the site so below are some of the things I like from their current collection. We have the lady bug bath thingy - it holds all the bath toys and the red bit comes off so you can scoop all the toys and rinse them and hang them up. There is also a little shelf for bottles. The second image is a new bath toy and the third image is some really cute food containers. Lovely things that are wants and not needs? See the full range here.

High Chairs

I have been holding out for a while on doing this post until I could definitely say our High chair was good. We have had a Stokee Tripp Trapp for many months but have only been using it for about six weeks. We chose it mainly because we didn't want a massive ugly piece of furniture taking up space after we stopped using it. So we got a Tripp Trapp that can go from a high chair to an adult seat. We love it and would totally recommend it. The only downside is that there are heaps of add ons which can make the price get pretty high.

Since our baby has been in a high chair we are starting to use other high chairs in cafés and realising that a lot of them are total crap. But one that is amazing is the Handysitt. We have been using this lately at our favourite cafe and like it so much we have decided to buy one for when we are out and about visiting family or just at cafés. It's really sturdy but also really expensive. But there are a few available on Trade Me at half price, so be quick if you want one!

Planet Awesome Kids

I can't believe I haven't heard about this site before! Planet Awesome Kids is a source of great kids stuff. It's a blog of really stylish little ones and links to all the clothing they are wearing. Here is one of my favorite looks - a bunny coat! Buy it here.

Nappy Bags

All you need for a nappy bag is some form of a tote bag, well as far as I know anyway. I have never actually looked inside a specifically designed nappy bag so I'm not sure what makes them different to a tote bag. You do need a bag so I say take the opportunity to buy something you love. Here are some options in extremely varying price ranges. I have a different version of the Company of Strangers bag below in dark blue, it is made from recycled leather jackets.

Teepeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Check out these amazing teepees out. They are made with vintage sailclothes and poplar sticks and they come with an army blanket ground sheet. Lots of the details are hand stitched and no two are alike. They are limited edition so not sure if you can still get them. Find them here by Greg Hatton in Melbourne.

Portable Basinet

I highly recommend this portable bassinet called Nest by Phil & Teds. It's a little portable bassinet that folds down and zips away into the bottom of a bag which you can use as a suitcase. You can put more than everything you need in there to take your baby away for a weekend. The mattress is nice and soft but it's nicer if you put a quilt under the baby too so it's warmer and snugly. You don't need to buy the sheets to go with it, normal bassinet sheets work fine. It's only $133 NZD but will only last up to about 9 months old.  It's 80cm long and weighs about 2 kg.
